Payment and Refund Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

Scope of This Policy

This Payment and Refund Policy applies to all purchases of the Course A headline and media presentation resource offered by headlyft. The resource covers editorial structure, story planning, studio reports and polished workflows for news content. It is delivered as digital access to structured learning materials and related resources. The policy explains how payments are handled, when contracts are formed, what cancellation rights exist and the conditions under which refunds may be issued. It applies to all customers located in the United Kingdom who purchase the resource through the website.

Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges

All prices are displayed in British Pounds Sterling. The listed price includes value added tax at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. No hidden fees are added at checkout beyond any optional extras that are clearly shown before payment. Customers are responsible for any currency conversion charges imposed by their payment provider or bank. headlyft does not charge for payment processing itself, but reserves the right to pass on any future regulatory fees that become mandatory under UK law.

Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security

Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards and other secure electronic payment services displayed at checkout. All transactions are processed through an encrypted payment gateway that complies with UK data protection standards. Payment authorisation occurs immediately upon submission. If authorisation fails, the order will not be confirmed. headlyft does not store full card details; these are handled solely by the payment processor in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

Order Confirmation and Contract Formation

When an order is placed, a confirmation email is sent to the address provided by the customer. This email constitutes acceptance of the order by headlyft and forms the contract. The contract is formed under the laws of England and Wales. Access to the digital resource is granted once payment has been successfully authorised. Customers should retain the confirmation email for their records.

Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, customers in the United Kingdom generally have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date the contract is concluded. However, because the resource consists of digital content, the cooling-off period ends as soon as download or access begins. Customers who start accessing the materials before the end of the 14 days expressly agree to waive their right to cancel. If access has not yet begun, cancellation within the period is possible by contacting headlyft.

Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items

Refunds are available only where the customer has not yet accessed the digital content and notifies headlyft within the applicable cancellation period. Once access has been granted or the content has been downloaded, refunds are not provided except in cases of proven technical failure on the part of headlyft. Promotional offers, bundled materials and any customised elements are non-refundable. Refunds are not issued for change of mind after access has started or for failure to meet personal expectations of the course material.

Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund

To request a refund, the customer must send a clear written statement to [email protected] including their full name, order reference number, date of purchase and reason for the request. The request must be made before any access to the materials occurs. headlyft will acknowledge receipt of the request within five working days. Customers should use the same email address associated with the original purchase to avoid delays in verification.

Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification of the Refund Decision

Upon receipt of a refund request, headlyft will review whether access has occurred and whether the request falls within the permitted period. A decision will be communicated by email within ten working days. If approved, the refund will proceed. If rejected, the reasons will be explained along with any remaining options available to the customer under UK consumer law. All decisions are made in good faith and in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method used at purchase. Processing typically takes between five and ten working days after approval, although the customer's bank or card issuer may require additional time. Customers will receive a confirmation email once the refund has been initiated. headlyft is not responsible for delays caused by third-party financial institutions.

Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers

Because the resource is digital content, the right to cancel ends immediately upon access. No subscriptions are offered; each purchase grants perpetual access to the purchased materials. Promotional discounts are final and cannot be combined with subsequent refunds. If a technical fault prevents access after purchase, headlyft will either restore access or issue a refund at its discretion.

Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud

If a payment fails, the order is not processed and no access is granted. Duplicate charges detected by the customer should be reported immediately to [email protected]. Legitimate duplicate charges will be refunded. Any chargeback initiated without valid grounds may result in restricted future access. headlyft monitors transactions for fraud and will cooperate with banks and authorities where suspicious activity is identified.

Mandatory Consumer Rights in the United Kingdom

Nothing in this policy affects the statutory rights of consumers under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. These rights cannot be excluded or limited by contract. Customers retain the right to seek redress through the courts or alternative dispute resolution if they believe their statutory rights have been breached.
